Homemade Granola Recipe
It's pretty awesome
I'm going to skip the usual online recipe preamble and get right to it. This granola is awesome. It's my go-to snack around training and source of extra carbs and electrolytes between sessions. No sugar, vegetable oils, or BS. I like to combine it with coconut kefir and protein powder of choice, but I've been known to eat it straight from the jar.
I should mention that this recipe makes 5 large Mason jars (~5L) of granola, so you will want to scale the quantities accordingly.
Here's how to make it.
Ingredients
- Rolled Oats - 900g
- Erythritol/Monk Fruit Sweetener - 225g
- Organic walnuts - 450g
- Grass-fed butter - 375g
- Coconut flakes - 300g
- Sea salt - 2 tbsp
- Cinnamon - 3 tbsp
Procedure
-
Preheat oven to 275°F
-
Lightly chop/smash walnuts, combine with oats, salt and cinnamon in a large bowl and mix
-
In a pot on the stove, melt butter and dissolve the sweetener
-
Combine melted butter with oat mixture and mix thoroughly
-
Spread the mixture across the baking sheets a few cm thick
-
Bake up to 30min, mixing oats every 10mins as needed - colour should end up golden, not burnt
The result
Enough to last you the whole week!
